Grange Farm is a proposal for a new settlement of approximately 4,500 houses next to the A1307 and A11, near Little Abington, S. Cambs.
The latest (August 2026) version of the Local Plan contains a description of the proposal, known as Policy S/GF; see pgs 316-362.
The size of this proposed settlement means that it would have a significant long-term effect on surrounding villages, including Great Abington, Little Abington, Linton and Hildersham. Local people apprehensive about the scale of the proposal have come together to form S-A-V-E, an organisation based in the Abingtons (contact: hello@s-a-v-e.co.uk).
Regulation 19
The Grange Farm proposal has now reached what is known as the Regulation 19 period, which will expire at 5pm on Friday 25th September 2026. This will be the last opportunity for the public to formally comment on the plan, and S-A-V-E have published recommendations on the steps required to successfully write and submit a comment.
During the Regulation 19 period, Greater Cambridge Local Plan/SCDC meetings will be taking place locally. These are events designed to promote the Local Plan as a whole through displays and exhibits. Grange Farm will be covered, and members of the public are free to ask questions.
On Monday 17th August, there will be a drop in session for local residents at Linton Library from 4.30-7.30pm.
And, on Thursday, 3rd September, from 4.00-7.30pm, there will be a session at Great Abington Primary School; anyone wishing to attend is recommended to sign up here.
